The Beachland Ballroom on Waterloo Road

15711 Waterloo Road in Collinwood. Converted 1950s Croatian social hall. The Ballroom upstairs holds 500 — ornate plasterwork and sprung wooden floor built for polkas, now hosting punk, indie, and Americana with the same enthusiasm. The Tavern downstairs is maybe 150, where local acts play and the singer's sweat might land on your shirt.

The bar serves Great Lakes and Market Garden alongside nationals. The Beachland burger from the kitchen has the sturdy quality of a burger in a building that doesn't think food needs to be an experience. It needs to be a burger.
